CIEH seeks to influence both regional and national government policy in relation to environmental and public health policy and legislation. We also actively encourage our members to contribute to consultation documents and CIEH policy development. The links at the bottom of this page take you to further information on documents where we are seeking views as part of a consultation, CIEH published policy documents and press releases. The environmental health service for the general public in NI operates through the 26 district councils and is responsible for a wide range of statutory health protection functions as well as being involved in health improvement initiatives.
