Strategy committee

The Strategy Committee develops strategic direction for the CIEH Northern Ireland taking account of the CIEH central policy as well as pertinent and specific regional issues.  It informs and contributes to the CIEH Northern Ireland work plan developed on an annual basis by the Director.

Mission statement 

The relationship between the Strategy Committee and the Director CIEH Northern Ireland should reflect that of the Policy Development Board (PDB) with the Chief Executive and secretariat, which means the Director CIEH Northern Ireland will act in secretariat role to the committee producing minutes, agendas and all the other relevant materials produced.

Meetings will be chaired by the Chairman of the Northern Ireland region. 

The Strategy Group will meet at dates to be agreed annually.


The membership of the Strategy Committee will comprise, as a minimum, the following:

  • Chairman Northern Ireland region
  • Secretary Northern Ireland region
  • Treasurer Northern Ireland region
  • At least one Trustee
  • Any other members as decided by Northern Ireland region

The Director CIEH Northern Ireland will sit on the committee as an ex officio, non voting member.

For the purposes of decision making the minimum quorum will be three voting members and a trustee.
